The road to happiness was not an easy one. There has been a lot of bumps and curves along the journey, from my constant battle with depression to my never ending anxiety. I don’t know what you’re going through or what you have been through but hopefully my words can soothe your soul and help you find your road to happiness. The following tips are things I myself have implemented in my life that have made me feel better physically and mentally.
♥ Surround yourself with positive energy
Remove all negative energy from your life. Who you surround yourself with, you become. Surround yourself with positive energy and watch how your overall mood changes.
♥ Speak into existence what you want
As said in Proverbs 18:21 – Death and life are in the power of the tongue. What you declare, is what you get. Whatever your dreams and aspirations may be, speak them into existence, and I promise the universe will listen.
♥ Do more, expect less
Be kind and don’t expect anything in return. Low expectations are the key to happiness. If you expect more and receive less you’re more likely to be disappointed.
♥ Be Grateful
We often take our basic necessities for granted without even realizing it. Appreciate what you have. You’re blessed ,don’t forget that.
♥ Drink more water
8 is the magic number. 8 cups of water a day. Water increases your energy, relieves fatigue, promotes weight loss, flushes out toxins, boosts your immune system, , and improves skin complexion. If you can’t simply drink water alone add some fruits to your water, this way its a bit more flavorful and easier to drink. Stay hydrated.
♥ Eat your fruits & veggies
Part of living a healthy lifestyle is eating healthy. Fruits and Veggies are packed with fibers, are low in calories, they reduce your risk of catching a disease, and finally it provides your body with essential vitamins and minerals. Its certainly a challenge to eat better but when you eat right, you feel better both physically and mentally.
♥ Meditate every morning & night
Meditating is a healthy way to start your morning and end your night. Meditation counteracts stress, increases your happiness, helps you sleep better, and brings you more creativity. When you meditate you release all the bad energy that surrounds your life and suddenly you find yourself becoming a less judgmental person and more compassionate.
♥ Never base your intelligence, self-worth, or beauty on what others say
When you allow the opinions and words of others to dictate your life, you give them power. You’re the leader of your own life not them. When your self-worth is tied to whether others let you belong in their group or whether others acknowledge you, you set yourself up for failure. BOSS UP.
♥ Drink green tea once a day
Green tea aids in weight loss, promotes healthy skin and hair, strengthens your immune system, it boosts resistance, lowers cholesterol levels, relieves you from stress and anxiety, controls blood pressure levels, reduces scars and rashes, and lowers your risk of getting cancer.
♥ Not everything needs a reaction
Sometimes silence is the best response. Speak less, listen more. Sometimes we feel like responding to a certain situation solves the problem but in reality it doesn’t. You wouldn’t add more gas to a fire thats already been set. Sometimes saying nothing shows strength and self growth. Learn to not take things personal and to simply stay quiet when somebody is ignorant.
♥ Stop comparing, just do better
As a full time student I am constantly surrounded by nagging little kids. ” OMG HE GETS SUCH GOOD GRADES, I WISH I COULD GET THE GRADES HE GETS BUT I COULD NEVER .” Stop comparing yourself to others. If you want to do better than do better. Study more. Watch how quick your grades will change. Instead of wasting your time nagging about how good somebody is doing why don’t you start to do good. All that time spent comparing yourself to others is wasted time that could be spent towards actually bettering yourself as an individual. STEP UP. STOP COMPARING AND START DOING. LIFES TOO SHORT.
♥ Learn to let go
Nothing causes you more harm than holding a grudge. Put your focus towards the future and let go of the past. You can’t fix the past no matter how hard you try. All you can do is make tomorrow a better day for yourself.
♥ Embrace your imperfections
Love yourself. Your imperfections make you who you are. Nobody is like you. You’re unique in every way.
♥ Clean your environment
When life gets messy just clean your surrounding environment. Your room is a reflection of your life. Messy room=Messy life. If you organize your room most likely you will end up feeling a bit more put together and ready to start the day
♥ Create a feel good playlist
Music influences your mood and thoughts. Create a feel good playlist and dance around like nobodies watching.
♥ Stay active
Exercise reduces stress and releases endorphins. It reduces the risk of disease, improves your overall mood and mental health, and its a great way to lose weight.
♥ Go outside
Spending time out in nature can be very refreshing, especially when you’re living in an artificial world. Taking a walk and getting some fresh air can allow you to appreciate the beauty of the natural world.
Educate yourself. Knowledge is power. Do extensive research before speaking about a certain topic. Reading is good for the mind and soul.
♥ Get a good nights rest
Once again 8 is the magic number. No more, no less. A good nights rest improves your mood and the overall result of your day.
♥ Surround yourself with loved ones
When you’re down and feeling lonely remember you’re not alone. Surround yourself with people who love and care about you.
Hopefully these tips help you on your journey to a happy healthy life.
♥ XOXO, till next time ♥
